As your guide on this journey, I am an experienced clinician, having been in the mental health field since 1973. When I began to observe the harmful effects of early trauma on people’s later ability to thrive, I made it my aim to learn about the neurology and psychology of trauma and how to best benefit trauma survivors. My qualifications include an A.B. from Vassar College and a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Lesley College. I have taken additional graduate work in dance/movement therapy, and the use of the expressive arts in healing. My specialty is research on trauma and the brain. I am a Level II EMDR Trauma Therapist and a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. Both of these psychotherapeutic methods have been determined effective for the treatment of trauma by the American Psychological Association. Since 1999, I have witnessed the miracle of healing from trauma in people’s lives. This work transforms people from fear to hope, insecurity to confidence. People come home to their true selves and true vocations.
